Prescriptions

Repeat prescription requests will be processed by the surgery within two working days. For example if you drop a repeat request into our outside box on a Saturday – it will be received in the surgery on a Monday morning and the prescription will be available to collect on the Wednesday. We need to have the two working days notice to allow the prescription to be issued and then to go to your GP for checking and signing.

You can order a repeat prescription in the following ways:

We handle more than 600 repeat prescription requests every week. To avoid mistakes repeat prescription requests must be in writing and the simplest way to do this is to hand in the right hand side of your prescription with the items you require ticked off. If you do not have this with you when you are at the surgery ask one of the receptionists to print out a new copy of your repeat medication tick sheet.

All of the local chemists offer repeat prescription collection services. They will drop your repeat request into the surgery, collect the prescription when it is ready and have the medication ready for you to collect from the pharmacy. Some of them will even deliver the medication to your house. If you are interested in this service speak to your local pharmacy to see what services they offer.

Unfortunately we are not able to offer a repeat prescription service by phone. However, you can fill out our Repeat Prescription Request form online. If you have a query relating to your prescription you can complete the Prescription Question form.
