Blue Badge Support Letters

We understand that some patients may wish to provide additional medical evidence in support of a Blue Badge application.

Please note the following information regarding letters of support from the Practice:

Before Requesting a Letter

  • We can only provide a supporting letter after you have submitted your initial Blue Badge application and received a request or decision from the local authority.
  • Any letter we provide will be based solely on information contained within your medical records.

Private Service and Fees

  • Blue Badge support letters are not funded by the NHS and therefore fall outside the services covered by your NHS care.
  • As a result, these letters are provided on a private basis only.
  • The fee for a Blue Badge support letter is £50.00.
  • Payment must be made before work on the letter begins.

Processing Times

  • Requests for Blue Badge support letters are considered non-urgent administrative work.
  • Please allow up to 10 working days for your request to be processed.

Important Information

  • The letter can only contain factual information taken from your health records. We cannot include information that is not documented in your medical notes.
  • A supporting letter does not guarantee that a Blue Badge will be awarded.
  • The Practice has no influence over the Council’s decision-making process and cannot intervene on your behalf.
  • If your application is unsuccessful and you disagree with the decision, you should follow the appeals or review process set out by your local authority.

If you would like to request a Blue Badge support letter, please submit a request using the ‘Questions and admin’ box here:
